Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — The popular all-girl Christian rock band BarlowGirl hits on the emotional pain women frequently experience following in an abortion in a new song. The track "Tears Fall" off of their new album "Love and War" is a reminder that abortion hurts women as well as unborn children.

The piano-based ballad is written from a post-abortive woman’s perspective and shares her painful memories and dreams of children who will never experience life.

"I have had the same dreams many times it haunts my mind, It starts with a light but it ends every time, Oh so many faces that this world will never see, A reason for your life but your heart will never be," the song begins.

"Oh what have we lost because we chose we’ll never know, And loving You is better than feeling alone, And all our claims to freedom have become these heavy chains, And in the name of rights we keep filling nameless graves," the verse continues.

The chorus of Tears Fall focuses on finding forgiveness and restoration from God.

"Let the tears fall down, Let them soften this ground, Let our hearts be found, God forgive us now," BarlowGirl sings.

The song is descirbed as having a Norah Jones-ish quality and a gospel choir adds a soulful background to the chorus.

Numerous studies have shown that women who have an abortion experience depression, thoughts of suicide and adverse mental health consequences such as deterioration of relationships and self-esteem.

A new study from July shows abortion is more hurtful for women than other pregnancy loss such as a miscarriage.

The band, comprise of three sisters, has often tackled pro-life topics and it has focused on purity and abstinence for its teenage and college-aged audience.

With the Barlow sisters getting older and seeing a new maturity to their songwriting, longtime fans of the band will not be surprised that they composed a pro-life song from a woman’s perspective and reportedly spent two and a half years to get its message just right.

BarlowGirl released their self-titled debut in 2004 and have sold over one million albums, had four #1 singles on the Christian charts and 12 Gospel Music Award nominations.
