Throughout the nation, we see parents being convinced that sex education in the schools is a given, and they are settling for what they see as the lesser of the evils presented. But the lesser of evils can never be accepted as a final solution. Parents must work to get all sex ed programs out of the schools. Here is the reason why.
Abstinence programs are being hijacked and used as traps by Planned Parenthood and other sex industry stakeholders. Programs that are not abstinence programs are pushed through as abstinence programs. Programs that started out as abstinence programs get hijacked and become, even if gradually, birth control and sex programs.
Even the best abstinence program, once it is out of the hands of those who created it, can be corrupted very quickly. The teacher’s bias will always determine, in the end, what the children are taught. There are a multitude of examples of this in the searchable archives of the Wednesday STOPP Report.
While it fights to discredit and knock all true abstinence education programs out of the marketplace, the Planned Parenthood network works at the same time to make sure that those programs receive little to no funding. It adds some references to abstinence in its own reprehensible programs and gets Title V abstinence education funding for them.
As if all that were not enough, the Planned Parenthood network is also perfecting ways to ensure that if an abstinence program reaches the list of programs available for funding, the developer will lose the exclusive right to teach upcoming instructors, allowing what started out as a respectable program to be taken over and manipulated by Planned Parenthood and its cronies.
This scenario is playing out now in Texas—a state that has made a good faith effort to offer some abstinence programs for schools. Because of the dedication of a handful of researchers, the truth is beginning to emerge: The great majority of programs approved for abstinence funding are not abstinence programs. They are birth control and sex instruction programs. Those trying to offer truly healthy curricula have been hoodwinked and hijacked.
Sex education must be in the hands of the parents. Our challenge as parents is to keep it there, and to help other parents with resources where good ones exist. The problem is that today’s good resource could very well become tomorrow’s corrupted resource. Children whose parents teach and model obedience to the Ten Commandments and a virtuous life have the best chance of healthy development.

Parents must not fall into the trap of believing that if a program does not emanate directly from Planned Parenthood it is okay, or if it is presented to them as an abstinence-based program that all is well.
Here is a good rule of thumb: If it is a sex education program—even when disguised as Life Skills or Health—it should not be in the school.
