David Davis says he was forced to deliver his new baby at home after he and his wife were turned away from a local hospital in Connecticut because his wife was supposedly not close to delivering. Davis said he was forced to deliver the newborn in the bathroom of his West Haven, Connecticut, home Friday morning.
The baby came after his wife, Lillie, went into labor when they’d been told to go home from hospital. He said the baby slipped through his hands during the delivery, but luckily went into the water of the toilet.
Little Liva weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces – soaking wet.
Hours after staff at Griffin Hospital in Derby told them go to home Lillie began feeling strong labor pains. At that point David called 911.

“Once I got off the phone with them, she said she … felt the need to push,’ David Davis told NBC Connecticut. “And thank God we were near the toilet because she slid…the baby slipped through my hands and actually went into the water… crying like that.”
