In 2009, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra became famous after staring in MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” and choosing adoption over abortion.
As LifeNews previously reported, at a pro-life event in Ireland Catelynn shared about how she felt when she found out she was pregnant and what swayed her against abortion.
She said, “My mom woke me up at 6 o’clock in the morning and she was like, ‘do you want to get an abortion?’ And I was so scared in that moment. My whole life I knew it wasn’t right for me but when I found myself in the scary situation at such a young age…it did pop in my head for a second even though I was against it my whole entire life.
And I was crying about it, I knew it wasn’t right. I went back to sleep. Tyler got home from school and he printed out all the procedures, the pictures, what they do and he showed them to me. And that reinforced it even more– there is no way I would be able to live with myself if I killed my child– there was no way.”
Tyler agreed with Catelynn and said, “I spent one whole hour of class time just going through ever single abortion procedure at every single trimester. I printed out all these pictures and I really did my research and learned stuff about abortion that I didn’t even know about. And so we canceled out abortion really quick. Then we obviously decided that adoption would be the best option for us.”
Tyler and Catelynn placed their daughter, Carly, for adoption and have no regrets about their decision. Now the young couple has welcomed their second child into the world. However, this time they are planning to raise their daughter together. They said, “We’re 22, have full-time jobs, a four-bedroom house and a sold relationship. There’s no doubt in our minds that it will still be hard— but we’re ready.”
In 2014, the couple decided to postpone their July wedding, but according to InTouch Magazine they are planning to tie the knot sometime this year.

Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry spilled the beans on Twitter, writing, “Congratulations to my good friends @CatelynnLowell and @TylerBaltierra. cannot wait to meet your new bundle of joy.”

Baltierra replied, “Thanks Kail! Can’t wait for you to meet her either!”
The couple has not announced an official name, but has been calling their little one “Baby V.”
Later that day, proud dad Baltierra tweeted, “OMG guys, my daughter is BEAUTIFUL! Can’t wait for you guys to see her! Born on 1/01/15 at 3:15 #StillCantBelieveIt #ShesPerfect.”
He later posted a picture of his fiancée holding their baby girl on Instagram, writing, “Momma Bear holding our little angel! Can’t tell you the feeling of witnessing this. Look at my beautiful bride to be! That woman is beyond strong, caring, and selfless. Couldn’t have asked for a better little family #Blessed #NewYearBAby #MyGirls #AreMyWorld.”
On Jan. 1, Baltierra captioned a throwback Instagram photo holding Carly, writing, “IT’S HAPPENING! Here we go, doing this all over again. This is surreal, I’m freakin out a little lol but can’t wait to meet my little angel! Thinking a lot about Carly right now. It’s bringing me back. Even though I know this time I will actually be taking her home. I love my girls! #CantWait #Nervous #Excited #Scared #Happy.”
Lowell has been ready to meet her baby girl for a while now, tweeting on Sunday, Dec. 28, “38 weeks today now I feel like everyday just drags can’t wait to meet our little angel!”
