The big news next week at the Republican convention will be making the nomination of businessman Donald Trump official — preparing him to take on pro-abortion activists Hillary Clinton. But pro-life voters will have a compelling reason to tune in as pro-life NFL start Tim Tebow will be speaking at the convention.
The New York Times first reported on Tebow speaking at the convention.
“From sports there is Mr. Tebow, the former quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner who is known for his conservative views;” it reported.
According to one article, “Trump has a bit of history with Tebow, but it’s likely not one they’ll highlight at the convention. In 2012, Trump won a bidding auction for a signed Tebow helmet and jersey … but paid $12,000 for the items with a check from the Donald J. Trump Foundation.”

This won’t be the only time Tebow, born after his mother rejected an abortion, will be on television.
A new season of a Fox home improvement show this week comes with a special, life-affirming message. The TV series “Home Free” is a home building competition with a special twist: competitors work to build a dream home for their heroes, CBN reports. Tebow will co-host the series.
Some of the competitors this year will include a young man competing for a woman who donated a kidney to his father and a former U.S. military man competing for the person who saved his life in Afghanistan, according to the report.
“It’s hope,” Tebow said. “It’s hope for the future. It’s hope that tomorrow is going to be better than yesterday. It’s a place that kids can laugh and where families can come together. A house is more than just doors and windows.”
Tebow uses his fame to set a strong example for others, whether through helping people with disabilities or working to protect unborn babies from abortion. In 2015, the Christian athlete opened a hospital in the Philippines where his parents served as missionaries. It was there that Tebow himself almost was aborted. His mother, Pam, became ill with dysentery while she was there, and doctors encouraged her to abort him. Tim said his mother’s doctors described him as a “fetal tumor” and “mass of cells” that had to be removed.
However, Tim’s mom courageously refused the abortion, and both Pam and Tim miraculously survived. In 2010, they partnered with Focus on the Family by sharing their story in a Superbowl commercial. The commercial was seen by millions of Americans and received high praise from pro-life groups.
Tebow also has been involved in the life-affirming project Night to Shine, a prom night experience that centers around showing God’s love for people with special needs ages 16 and older.
Tebow is one of those rare celebrities who uses his fame to further the message that every life, both inside the womb and out, is valuable.
