Sign Outside Local Planned Parenthood Says It All: “Black Lives Don’t Matter Here”

Outside of the Planned Parenthood building in Bedford, Ohio sits a sign stating “Black Lives Don’t Matter Here.” Sadly, this sign accurately represents Planned Parenthood’s blatant targeting of minorities, especially African Americans.

Someone noticed the sign and posted a photo of it on Twitter earlier this week:

In a recent Facebook post, Planned Parenthood expressed the importance of respecting black lives and mourned the recent shooting deaths of two black men. The rhetoric is deceptive, though, because Planned Parenthood does not care about protecting black lives in the womb.

“Planned Parenthood firmly believes in the reproductive justice pillar that people should be able to parent their children without fear that they will be harmed or killed,” the abortion group said on Facebook. “We stand with those calling for justice for the lives of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile and for laws to change in order to protect Black lives.”

Despite posting positive and consistent comments supporting the black community, Planned Parenthood targets black women and their babies for abortions by strategically placing its abortion facilities in low-income minority neighborhoods. According to a 2012 study by Protecting Black Life, 79 percent of Planned Parenthood buildings are within walking distance of African American or Hispanic/Latino communities.

Research shows that black women are nearly three-times as likely to have an abortion as Caucasian women. Arguably, Planned Parenthood is purposefully making abortion accessible to African Americans simply because an increase in abortion helps business.

The Rev. Arnold Culbreath, director of Protecting Black Life and a founding member of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition, stated previously: “Minority communities are the #1 targets of Planned Parenthood. It’s no wonder abortion remains the leading cause of death among African Americans, higher than all other causes combined. Getting this information to as many people as possible is not only critical, it’s a matter of life and death for countless babies and oft times even their mothers.”

Planned Parenthood is the first to declare that black lives matter, and it seems very noble in its statements regarding equality. However, Planned Parenthood continues to prey upon black women and profit from the abortions of their children.
