Abortion activists don’t want women to have choices. They want them to have abortions.
And it’s clear by their continuous attacks on pregnancy centers that offer women life-affirming information and support for free.
On Tuesday, abortion activists with the groups UltraViolet and CREDO protested outside Google headquarters in California, demanding that the media giant remove pregnancy centers from its internet search results, The Mercury News reports.
According to the report: “The two groups argue that when someone searches on Google for abortion services or on Google Maps for nearby abortion centers, crisis pregnancy centers often emerge at the top of the results. Crisis pregnancy centers are non-profit centers that aim to dissuade pregnant women from having abortions.”
UltraViolet co-founder Shaunna Thomas blasted pregnancy centers in a statement, claiming they “lure in” vulnerable pregnant women and manipulate them into choosing life for their unborn babies.
Google, though no friend to pro-life advocates or conservatives, has not caved to the radical abortion activists’ demands so far. Whether the pro-abortion protests will influence the media giant remains to be seen.
Last month, abortion activists also badgered Google employees on their way to work. They rode bicycles behind Google’s shuttle buses in San Francisco with signs claiming, “Searching for abortion care? Google will send you to fake, anti-abortion clinics.”
Despite all their claims, abortion activists have not been able to find “any real-life woman claiming she’s been mistreated, tricked, or misled in any way by a pregnancy help center,” Jay Hobbs wrote recently at the Washington Examiner.
Christian Post reports pro-life pregnancy centers have a near 99-percent client satisfaction rate.
Yet, abortion activists with NARAL, Planned Parenthood and other prominent abortion groups continue to attack pregnancy centers – likely because they are cutting into the abortion industry’s profits.

Every year, pregnancy resource centers provide hope and encouragement to tens of thousands of women who otherwise may have aborted their unborn babies. They offer pregnant and parenting moms free, life-affirming counseling and support, including diapers, cribs, maternity clothes and more.
Many are completely funded by private donations and primarily run by volunteers. In contrast, abortion facilities make money off women who chose to abort their unborn babies. For example, Planned Parenthood’s most recent annual report showed a record income of $1.46 billion.
Right now, California pregnancy centers are battling a pro-abortion law that forces them to advertise free taxpayer funded abortions to their clients. The U.S. Supreme Court recently heard arguments in the case; a ruling is expected this summer.
As is evident with the Google campaign, even companies that refuse to block life-affirming pregnancy help information are being targeted by radical abortion activists. Nothing short of a complete embrace of abortion for any reason up to birth, it seems, will satisfy them.
