Bank of America not only has donated to America’s biggest abortion company, but it also co-sponsored its major fundraising event where it presented an award to abortion champion Hillary Clinton. Those are the revelations from 2nd Vote, a watchdog group that monitors corporate sponsorship of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

The organization 2nd Vote previously told LifeNews last week that Bank of America donated $50,000 to the Planned Parenthood abortion company in 2017. Today it issued a new report expanding on that data.

Archived webpages show Bank of America sponsored consecutive annual fundraising galas for Planned Parenthood of New York City.

According to documentation released by 2nd Vote, an online announcement for Planned Parenthood of New York City’s May 2, 2017 centennial gala listed Bank of America as a “corporate sponsor.” The event was billed as a “once-in-a-lifetime gala to benefit Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood of New York City.”

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was presented with the Champion of the Century Award at the gala.

One year later, a similar announcement for Planned Parenthood of New York City’s “Spring Into Action Gala” on May 1, 2018 listed Bank of America as a “bronze sponsor.”

2ndVote also released a copy of a letter from Bank of America Charitable Foundation President Kerry Sullivan dated February 5, 2019. The letter reads, “Bank of America does not make any direct grants to Planned Parenthood. As you may know, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation has a Matching Gifts program which matches our employees’ charitable contributions to government recognized 501(c)3 organizations.”

According to the most recent available IRS Form 990 filing, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation distributed over $50,000 to Planned Parenthood organizations in 2017. Given Planned Parenthood’s own estimates, that would be enough to pay for 50 to 140 abortion procedures.

“Bank of America continues to direct tens of thousands of dollars into Planned Parenthood’s abortion business,” said 2ndVote Executive Director Robert Kuykendall. “We want investors and customers to understand that their dollars are being used to support an organization that exists primarily to end innocent lives.”

“As we saw earlier this year in New York and Virginia, the abortion lobby is engaged in a nationwide effort to end all limitations on abortion,” continued Kuykendall. “By continuing to fund Planned Parenthood, Bank of America is endorsing a radical agenda and financing the killing of infants up to the moment of birth.”

“Information is powerful,” said Kuykendall. “Bank of America’s leadership needs to hear from customers, investors, and all who value life that support for Planned Parenthood is support for infanticide. Those who value life don’t want to see their banking dollars funding an organization that ends over 300,000 lives every year.”

This isn’t the first time bank of America has come under fire from pro-life advocates for donations to the Planned Parethood abortion biz.

In 2016, the group Pro-Life Waco staged protests asking the bank to end its employee matching grant program with the abortion business. According to the group: “Pro-Life Waco is leading a campaign to convince national management of Bank of America to completely terminate its financial support for Planned Parenthood. Bank of America includes Planned Parenthood in its 100% match to employees donations.”

In addition to Planned Parenthood, a quick look at past Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Inc. 990’s shows that they also contributed to the abortion giant’s former research arm, the Guttmacher Institute. The documents show about $2,500 in donations to Planned Parenthood and $615 to the pro-abortion research group.

Kuykendall asks pro-life people to take action:

“Despite appalling efforts led by Planned Parenthood to legalize abortion up until the moment of birth in states like New York, Bank of America continues to stand by its contributions,” he told LifeNews. “We need your help showing Bank of America that corporate support for Planned Parenthood’s abortion agenda is unacceptable.”
