The ministry Let Them Live is calling for pro-life women who are fluent in Spanish to apply as pregnancy counselors to help mothers choose life.

A June 25 email from Let Them Live reads: “Are you passionate about saving lives with Let Them Live? Are you looking for a way to be more involved in the pro-life movement? Do you have special language skills? Here is your opportunity to be a source of hope in the darkness for our precious moms!”

“We urgently need individuals who speak Spanish and English and want to join our team as pregnancy counselors,” the email continues. “Our precious Spanish-speaking mamas need your help now!”

Nathan and Emily Berning founded Let Them Live in 2019 to provide financial support for pregnant women who schedule abortions because of financial burdens or lack of support from family and friends.

According to Let Them Live’s FAQ webpage, “73% of women have abortions due to financial burden.” The pro-life ministry uses a model of both emotional and financial support to combat this pressure and help mothers choose life. Donors can make a one-time donation or a monthly donation to support the mothers that Let Them Live is helping.

Additionally, Let Them Live counselors assist these mothers in designing a personalized financial plan to help set them up for the future and foster independence.

To apply as a counselor for the currently-advertised role, candidates must be female, 21 years or older, fluent in Spanish and English, and must have training availability and a capacity to volunteer 5-10 hours minimum per week.

Let Them Live also offers an Adopt-a-Mom program where sponsors commit to financially supporting a pregnant mother in crisis through all nine months of her pregnancy. Sponsors will receive ultrasound updates and any photos of the child after he or she is born that are shared with Let Them Live.

The Adopt-a-Mom webpage also highlights an endorsement from Fr. Taylor Reynolds, JCL, a Catholic priest from the Diocese of Alexandria, Louisiana.

“Not only do I recommend it [the Adopt-a-Mom program], I strongly encourage it,” Fr. Reynolds stated. “It’s part of our duty.”
