Hillary Clinton Holds Lead Over Barack Obama With Pennsylvania Looming

Harrisburg, PA (LifeNews.com) -- With Pennsylvania voters heading to the polls on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton leads her fellow pro-abortion Democratic hopeful Barack Obama. Clinton led by double digits over her Senate colleague a month ago; Obama eventually cut the lead but he's never been able to move ahead.

The most recent poll in the race, from Zogby International, shows Clinton ahead 48 to 42 percent. The daily tracking poll will show Clinton leading by six on Monday, and it had her leading by three Sunday and by five Saturday and four on Friday.

A Mason-Dixon poll released on Sunday shows a similar spread with Clinton over Obama by a 48 to 43 percent margin.

Looking at other recent polls, Rasmussen has Clinton leading 47-44 percent, ARG has Clinton ahead 54-41, and the Strategic Vision polling firm has Clinton leading 49 to 40 percent.

Only the PPP firm has Obama leading, with a Wednesday poll showing him over Clinton 45-42 percent.

Should Clinton carry Pennsylvania on Tuesday night, that likely won't allow her to catch up to Obama in the delegate count because the state splits the number of delegates awarded in a proportional manner.

Clinton would have to carry Pennsylvania by a large margin and go on to win other states with equally massive victories. Neither result appears likely.

Following Pennsylvania, the candidates head to North Carolina, a state with a large African-American population that helps Obama.

In fact, polls show him with about a 50-35 percent lead over Clinton in the May 6 contest. Three polls released last week have Obama leading by margins of 15, 13 and 20 percentage points, respectively.
