Oregon Health & Science University Relies on Babies Aborted at Planned Parenthood for Research

Oregon Health & Science University is the third university in two months to have been found to be conducting research with tissue from aborted babies who were aborted at Planned Parenthood.

In the wake of the Planned Parenthood scandal involving it selling aborted babies and body parts from aborted babies, Colorado State University was found to have purchased body parts from aborted babies and the University of Wisconsin was caught buying body parts from aborted babies for research there that were killed at Planned Parenthood.

Now, Oregon Health & Science University is caught up in the controversy. As a new report indicates, although OHSU is to using fetal tissue from the bodies of the aborted babies for research, it is using placental tissue taken when those babies were aborted at Planned Parenthood. That makes the OHSU research reliant on babies aborted at Planned Parenthood to continue.

Here’s more:

Oregon Health & Science University is not currently conducting any studies involving human fetal tissue, but it is using placental tissue in hopes of developing tools to detect risky pregnancies earlier, spokeswoman Tamara Hargens-Bradley said Tuesday.

The two studies use donated first-trimester placental tissue from women who have given consent through Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette, Hargens-Bradley said in an email.

Liberty Pike, the Communications Director for Oregon Right to Life, was very disappointed by the news.

She told LifeNews.com, “OHSU denies using actual fetal body parts in their research but admit to using placentas, the life support system, from babies who have been aborted in the Portland area. No matter what part they use, babies still died.”

“This is a confirmation that Planned Parenthood of the Columbia Willamette Valley is also participating in the sale of aborted fetal tissue. If they are selling placentas to OHSU, they are surely sending the rest of the babies elsewhere,” Pike said. “It isn’t just Planned Parenthood affiliated clinics. Sidewalk counselors, including myself, standing outside the Lovejoy Surgicenter in Portland have witnessed men and women entering the business and exiting moments later carrying little red Igloo coolers. Lovejoy Surgicenter advertises on their website that they perform abortions through 23 weeks and will perform them on older babies on a ‘case-by-case’ basis.”

“With 22 babies aborted daily in Oregon, one has to wonder where all the bodies are going, especially since Marion County banned the burning of aborted babies in their waste-to-energy plant,” Pike concluded.

The revelations about Oregon Health & Science University come on the same day pro-life advocates behind the five shocking videos exposing Planned Parenthood selling the body parts of aborted babies for research released a 6th video today that shows how the abortion business sells body parts of aborted babies without patient consent.
