Pete Buttigieg wants to force American taxpayers to pay for the killing of unborn babies, not only in America but all across the world.
The former South Bend, Indiana mayor and Democrat presidential candidate spoke about his plans during a private event with Planned Parenthood abortion activists Sunday in Nevada, according to the Washington Times.
Buttigieg told the abortion activists that his plan for national health care would “support, reimburse and fund” abortions and family planning. He claimed women of color, poor women and women in rural areas need better access to abortion, especially in states where lawmakers are passing pro-life laws, the report continues.
Earlier, Buttigieg also said he would end the Mexico City policy, which prohibits U.S. international aid to groups that promote and/or provide abortions. When President Donald Trump enacted the Mexico City policy, he defunded two of the largest abortion chains in the world, Planned Parenthood and Marie Stopes International, of nearly $200 million American tax dollars.
Most Americans do not want their tax dollars to fund the killing of unborn babies either in America or abroad. Polls consistently show strong opposition to taxpayer-funded abortions, including the low-income individuals who supposedly would benefit from his plan.
A 2016 Harvard University poll found that only 36 percent of likely voters support overturning the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer-funded abortions in Medicare.

And while Buttigieg claims taxpayer-funded abortions are especially important for poor women, the poll suggests that it is not what low-income women want. According to the poll, voters who make more than $75,000 were more supportive of forcing taxpayers to fund abortions (45 percent in favor), while those who make $25,000 or less were strongly against it (24 percent in favor). In other words, the people most likely to qualify for a Medicaid-covered, taxpayer-funded abortion are the ones who oppose it the most.
A 2017 Marist survey also found that 60 percent of respondents opposed such funding, including a majority of low-income individuals.
Even the pro-abortion news outlet Slate recently questioned Democrats’ advocacy for taxpayer-funded abortions because polls consistently show such strong opposition to it.
All of the top polling Democrat presidential candidates support abortions without restriction up to birth and want to force taxpayers to pay for them. Two of the candidates, Bernie Sanders and Buttigieg, recently even refused to welcome pro-life Democrats into the party.
