Voters elected a record-number of pro-life women to Congress on Tuesday, including 13 new pro-life Republicans who will be filling seats in the U.S. House.
The Susan B. Anthony List, a leading pro-life organization that invested $52 million into supporting pro-life candidates, celebrated the victories for life.
“The surge of victorious pro-life women candidates in the U.S. House is a stunning blow to Nancy Pelosi and her pro-abortion agenda,” its president, Marjorie Dannenfelser, said. “So far, we have more than doubled the number of pro-life women in the House, with more races to be called. Seven pro-life women candidates flipped pro-abortion Democrat-held seats.”

Wyoming elected pro-life Republican Cynthia Lummis to join re-elected incumbent Sens. Joni Ernst, of Iowa, Shelley Moore Capito, of West Virginia, and Cindy Hyde-Smith, of Mississippi, and other pro-life female senators in 2021. Sen. Kelly Loeffler, of Georgia, is facing a run-off race in January; if elected, she will make seven pro-life women in the Senate.
In U.S. House races, seven pro-life Republican women flipped Democrat-held seats on Tuesday: Maria Salazar, of Florida, Yvette Herrell, of New Mexico, Michelle Fischbach, of Minnesota, Nancy Mace, of South Carolina, Stephanie Bice, of Oklahoma, Ashley Hinson, of Iowa, and Nicole Malliotakis, of New York.
Dannenfelser said their victories mean the number of pro-life women in the House will double.
“We’re so proud of these women who will be a bold voice for moms and unborn babies on Capitol Hill and we look forward to working with them to save lives!” her organization said.
Additional races have yet to be decided, and pro-life leaders hope the number will expand even more. Pro-abortion Democrats still control the U.S. House, but their majority is thinning.
“We expect when all votes are counted and the races are called, we will have a record number of pro-life women serving in the next Congress,” Dannenfelser said. “These gains are a repudiation of abortion extremism and further evidence that life is a winning issue in politics.”
SBA List and its Women Speak Out PAC reached more than 8 million voters in 10 battleground states ahead of the election.
