The Abortion Pill Reversal bill made another advancement in the General Assembly Thursday when S.C. House bill H. 4568 cleared a House Judiciary subcommittee by a party line
vote of 3-1.

Voting in favor of the legislation that gives a woman information on the window of opportunity she has to reverse the deadly effects of the abortion pill were Special Laws Subcommittee Chairman John McCravy, R-Greenwood, Representative Jason Elliott, R-Greenville, and Representative Sylleste Davis, R-Summerville. Voting against the bill was Representative Spencer Wetmore, D-Charleston. The bill now advances to the full House Judiciary Committee.

South Carolina Citizens for Life, the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, Palmetto Family, and many individuals and organizations strongly support the Abortion Pill Reversal Information law.

A similar bill, S. 907, passed the S.C. Senate Medical Affairs subcommittee on January 26, 2022, but since has been stalled in the full Medical Affairs Committee. On March 3, 2022, two pro-abortion committee members, Senator Brad Hutto, D-Orangeburg, and Senator Sandy Senn, R-Charleston, walked out of the committee meeting so that the committee lacked a quorum to hear S. 907.

During the January 26 hearing, the Medical Affairs subcommittee heard powerful and stunning testimony from a woman who took one of two pills intended to chemically abort her unborn child. After she changed her mind and received immediate medical assistance to reverse the lethal effects of the abortion pill, her baby boy was saved and is now 18-months old.
