After the first FULL week of the largest Lenten 40 Days for Life campaign ever, we know of 106 babies spared from abortion since February 22!
The mother of an abortion-bound woman in Bloomington, Indiana, told 40 Days for Life participants she had done everything she could to convince her daughter not to abort…but it wasn’t enough.
The pregnant woman then refused help from vigil participants, who had no recourse other than to simply pray harder!
Those prayers were answered, as the unborn baby’s father called the mom–crying and begging her not to go through with the abortion.
“That was all it took to change her mind,” explained Bloomington campaign leader Deacon Russ. “Was that call just a coincidence? We know better; it was a God incidence. To God give all the glory!”
The post-Roe era has been challenging for Indiana pro-lifers.

A judge halted enforcement of a new pro-life law in the Hoosier State. Meanwhile, residents of Kentucky–where abortion is now illegal–are crossing state lines for abortions.
“We knew we were in for a challenge this spring 40 Days for Life campaign,” said Deacon Russ.
But the Bloomington team’s faithfulness and perseverance paid off. The baby they saved was their first (that they know of) in two years!
Aguazul, Colombia
A student in Aguazul told a cafeteria worker at her school that she was pregnant–and that her mom insisted that she have an abortion.
The girl’s age, her family’s financial situation, and her boyfriend’s disinterest in his child all played into the decision.
Fortunately, the cafeteria worker contacted 40 Days for Life participants, who met with the pregnant girl and her mom.
“After several visits, the young woman’s mother understood that abortion was not the solution,” reported 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. “Yesterday, an ultrasound was finally performed, and they both chose life!”
Augusta, Georgia
An abortion-bound woman in Augusta stopped to talk with vigil participants…
…who suggested she visit the local pregnancy help center instead of the abortion facility. The expectant mother accepted the offer, and she chose life!
This woman isn’t the only mom in crisis getting help from the Augusta team. Lucy, the leader, empowered a teenage incest victim to choose life–and is continuing to support her through her pregnancy.
