Researcher, Patricia Maloney, reported on May 16, 2023 that the CAMAP received $3,287,996 in funding from the Canadian government in 2021.
CAMAP stands for the Canadian Association of MAiD Assessors and Providers which is the group that provides training and advocacy for doctors and nurse practitioners who are assessing and providing MAiD (euthanasia).
As Maloney reports, this group is also a charity that collects donations.
Here are some quotes from satisfied donors:
“Both of my parents benefited from your work. Thanks!” – Donor
“My husband died with dignity thanks to MAiD. I am very thankful that this option was available.” – Donor
“I can’t think of a more deserving charity. Count me in as a strong supporter and believer in your charity’s mandate!” – Donor
“I can’t possibly thank you enough for your most needed work and compassion.” – Donor
As a charity CAMAP issues charitable tax deductible receipts to their donors.

Maloney explains that the CAMAP and Dying With Dignity, Canada’s other leading euthanasia charity, are both receiving federal money and charitable donations. Maloney reported that Dying With Dignity received $1,653,893 in donations in 2021 and they received $204,655 from the federal government in FY 2021. Dying with Dignity had $8,000,000 in the bank that year.
The Euthanasia Prevetion Coalition is not a charity because we are opposed to killing people.
Unlike the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, the highest paid employee at Dying With Dignity made between 160,000 – 199,000 in 2021.
Maloney points out that Charity Intelligence who rates charities for donors (and not for the charities) gives DWD a 1 star rating (out of 5 stars). Charity Intelligence reported that:
“for each dollar donated, after overhead costs of fundraising and admin/management (excluding surplus) 36 cents are available for programs.”
Maloney concludes her comments by pointing out that CAMAP and Dying With Dignity are both newer charities. Maloney expects that the federal government will continue to increase donations to these groups.
