A new national poll shows 77% of Americans want limits on abortions and a strong majority reject the abortion on demand agenda of Joe Biden and Democrats.
One year after the Dobbs decision, new polling reveals that Americans overwhelmingly agree with pro-life protections for unborn babies and mothers and reject abortion extremism. The brand new survey from the respected Tarrance Group polling firm found results that conflict with the liberal media coverage of abortion.
While much of the coverage on the issue of abortion in the year since the Dobbs decision portrays an America deeply divided, this survey shows that a supermajority (70% or above) of voters agree on a few key areas surrounding the issue, including a majority of Democratic voters.
Three-fourths of all voters are opposed to abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Of a range of options: 77% support at least some prohibition to abortion, with exceptions for the life of
the mother, rape, and incest. Only 15% “allowed throughout all nine months of pregnancy, without any restrictions” — the position of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party.
Seven in ten (70%) support parental notification, requiring that a parent be notified when a minor child seeks to have an abortion. This includes a majority of “pro-choice” voters.
Three-fourths (76%) support pregnancy resource centers that do not perform abortions but instead offer support to people during their pregnancy and after a baby is born.
Furthermore, a clear majority (59%) of voters say they would support Congressional legislation that would prohibit abortions after a baby can feel pain at fifteen weeks of pregnancy, with expectations for the life of the Mother, rape, and incest, while allowing states to pass even more protective laws.

A 52% majority also support Congressional legislation permanently prohibiting tax dollars from being used to fund abortion, with those same exceptions.
Finally, a solid 64% majority of voters would oppose Congressional legislation that would mandate allowing abortion on-demand, up to the moment of birth and without any limits across all fifty states.
SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser commented on the poll to LifeNews.
“When it comes to protecting life and supporting women, Americans agree far more than the media will report. We believe the science that shows babies in the womb have a beating heart at six weeks, can suck their thumb as early as 10 weeks and feel pain at least by 15 weeks. We believe parents have a right to know if their daughters are considering abortion. And we believe women deserve all the compassion, support and resources the pro-life safety net provides to genuinely empower them – not to be sold an abortion and sent off to figure out how to cope on their own,” she said.
Dannenfelser added: “A year after Dobbs, nearly half the country has laws reflecting the will of the people. Americans strongly agree Congress also has a role to play in protecting babies from brutal late-term abortions when they can feel pain. We reject the Democrats’ radical agenda of tax-funded abortion on demand until birth. Life is winning across America and that’s worth celebrating.”
The new poll follows on the heels of a new Gallup survey showing a plurality of Americans oppose all or most abortions.
