During a conservative forum today in Iowa, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis celebrated a fellow governor signing a monumental pro-life bill and he said he was proud to have done the same in his state.

“I’m very proud to say Kim Reynolds is here, and she signed a great heartbeat bill today. We were able to do that in Florida,” DeSantis said.

He was referring to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, who today signed a heartbeat law protecting babies from abortions.

DeSantis went on to say he will be a pro-life president if he’s nominated and defeated pro-abortion radical Joe Biden.

“I’m proud to have been a pro-life Governor, and I will be a pro-life President,” he said.

Asked if he would sign pro-life legislation on the national level, DeSantis said he absolutely would do so as president.

“Of course I want to sign pro-life legislation. You’ve got to stand on principle. If you’re here to contort yourself into a pretzel to take on big issues you’re not somebody that’s dependable.”

He ultimately confirmed he would sign pro-life legislation “every day of the week and twice on Sunday.”
