Joe Biden Sends $16 Million to Planned Parenthoods That Kill Babies in Abortions

The most anti-Life presidential administration yet has reportedly given grants totaling around $1.4 million to two Texas Planned Parenthood affiliates.

The money came from the 2021 American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion spending bill purportedly meant to aid the nation’s recovery from COVID. Of that package, the Department of Health and Human Services sent $16 million to Planned Parenthoods across the country. The money was given to Texas Planned Parenthoods in January 2022 as part of an effort to undercut the Texas Heartbeat Act, which became effective in September 2021.

One of the grants was given to Planned Parenthood Greater Texas, which has locations in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco. The money was earmarked for “Providing Title X Family Planning Services in West Texas in the Aftermath of SB 8 [the Texas Heartbeat Act].”

The other grant went to Planned Parenthood South Texas, which covers five locations in San Antonio and two the Rio Grande Valley. This money was intended to support contraceptive services, including contraceptives with abortifacient properties.

It is important to note that, due to the Hyde Amendment, federal taxpayer funds have been prohibited from financing most abortions since 1977. Though these taxpayer dollars could not be used to directly pay for elective abortions, the influx of money could allow Planned Parenthood to reallocate their budget and use more of their other funding toward abortion-related expenses.

On top of the money from the American Rescue Plan, Planned Parenthood Greater Texas has received $4.6 million in Title X funds since 2022. This means they receive millions of taxpayer dollars, even after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Elective abortion became outlawed in Texas from the moment of fertilization in June 2022 after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which brought the state’s pre-Roe laws back into effect. However, Texas Planned Parenthoods are still open and operating as abortion travel agencies, sending women to other states to receive abortions. Our tax dollars are funding these anti-Life actions.

With government agencies under Biden’s administration disbursing millions of dollars to abortion organizations, the battle to protect Life is far from over. Now we must hold accountable the individuals and organizations within Texas that are illegally assisting women in obtaining abortions and working tirelessly to circumvent our Life-saving laws.
