Mom Leaves Abortion Clinic and Keeps Her Baby After Pro-Life People Pray Outside

Recently, 40 Days for Life participants in Downers Grove, Illinois, counted 27 moms walk through the doors of “Access Health Center” to abort their babies.

It might be tempting to lose hope after witnessing that many children killed by abortion. But prayer warriors refused to give up…and the very next day, vigil participants helped empower a mom to choose life!

That young mother told a sidewalk counselor that she wasn’t sure whether she was pregnant–and if she was, she wasn’t sure what she’d choose because she already has a year-and-a-half-old baby at home.

The sidewalk counselor couldn’t persuade the mom to bail on her appointment, but an hour later, the woman left the abortion facility and confirmed she would be keeping her baby!

“A baby was saved,” wrote Caron, the local vigil leader. “And [along] with her child, a mother also was rescued from a life of regret.”

Thank God the 40 Days for Life volunteers in Downers Grove didn’t give in to discouragement. Because of their faithfulness, an abortion-vulnerable baby and mom are alive and well!

Salta, Argentina

40 Days for Life participants in Salta asked an apparent passerby to take a photo of them before they started praying.

The young woman agreed, but as the vigil shift proceeded, volunteers noticed she continued to linger around and asked whether she needed help.

“The woman said she was pregnant with her third child, but her husband told her to have an abortion and then left her,” explained 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. “She fell into a depression…until she saw the volunteers praying with the 40 Days for Life signs.”

At that moment, the troubled mother realized she shouldn’t have an abortion. She is now 20 weeks along in her pregnancy.

Before leaving, she even stayed to pray with vigil participants!

A woman in Colombia was also moved by 40 Days for Life signs.

“She read the signs and continued on,” Lourdes reported. “But then she returned.”

When volunteers gave the woman a flyer and explained the purpose of their vigil, she began to cry and shared the difficult circumstances that had her considering abortion.

“She accepted the campaign team’s offer of help and decided to continue with her pregnancy!” Lourdes added.
