Kamala Harris Wants Abortions Up to Birth Across America

The headline is “Vice President Harris announces nationwide events focused on abortion” and it all but gushes at the prospect of Kamala Harris taking it to those weakling pro-lifers.

Chris Megerian of the Associated Press writes about the “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour which will begin in Wisconsin on Jan. 22, 2024—the 51st anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision which Dobbs overturned in 2022.

Vice President Kamala Harris is redoubling her focus on abortion rights as the election year begins, planning a nationwide series of events as Democrats try to rally voters to give President Joe Biden a second term and regain full control of Congress.

So what does her official White House statement say? Among other things…

“Extremists across our country continue to wage a full-on attack against hard-won, hard-fought freedoms as they push their radical policies – from banning abortion in all 50 states and criminalizing doctors, to forcing women to travel out of state in order to get the care they need,” said Vice President Harris. “I will continue to fight for our fundamental freedoms while bringing together those throughout America who agree that every woman should have the right to make decisions about her own body – not the government.”

Specifically how? Well

During the Vice President’s reproductive freedoms tour, she will host events that highlight the harm caused by these abortion bans while sharing stories of those who have been impacted. Vice President Harris will also hold extremists accountable for proposing a national abortion ban, call on Congress to restore the protections of Roe, and outline steps the Administration is taking to protect access to health care. Additionally, she will urge attendees to use their voices and stay engaged in the fight for fundamental freedoms.

Megerian writes that “Vice presidents are rarely decisive in election campaigns, but Harris is poised to play an important role next year.” Why? Because of Biden’s age; “he would be 86 at the end of his second term.”

Also because “The issue was a focus for her recent college tour as well, when she visited campuses to speak to students.”

What to say? For starters, putting this vice president in charge of anything is the triumph of hope over experience. Even with the most receptive audiences—which is what the tour will consist of— she is shaky at best.

Why start in Wisconsin? It’s in play in the 2024 election. Out of nearly 5 million votes cast in 2020, Biden carried the state by less than 13,000 votes over former President Trump.

Megerian and Brett Samuels of The Hill drive home the point that Harris will be the point person on abortion which Democrats are convinced will favor them.

We’ll see about that!
