On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, Abortion Free New Mexico volunteers documented two abortion related injuries on the same day at the University of New Mexico Center For Reproductive Health (UNMCRH) freestanding abortion facility.

This is the the EIGHTH abortion injury documented at the UNM Center for Reproductive Health abortion center since Abortion Free New Mexico launched the daily sidewalk prayer initiative, No Sidewalk Without The Savior at UNMCRH in April of 2022.

The first abortion injury occurred at 2:30PM. At that time, a fire engine, police car and 2 ambulances were photographed onsite and a woman was wheeled out of the abortion center on a gurney and placed in an ambulance. Shockingly, the second abortion injury was documented around 4:00PM on the same day! Both women were taken to a local emergency room and their condition after a probable botched abortion injury is unknown.

First and second trimester abortions are performed up to 24 weeks (6 months) of pregnancy at this location. The UNMCRH is also a location which trains resident physicians how to perform abortions through the Ryan Residency Training program.

Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico, issued the following statement,

”Abortion at any stage of pregnancy is a brutal violent act. Precious unborn children pay the ultimate price with their lives but many times, as documented twice today, women sustain life threatening injuries because abortions are incredibly invasive and unnatural. Many women seeking abortions are not fully aware of the risks and they are even less likely to be told, by the abortion industry, about the alternatives to abortion. The pro-abortion community doesn’t care about women’s health, they just demand unrestricted abortion regardless of the life threatening consequences.”

Abortion Free New Mexico volunteers continue to be the on the frontlines everyday in front of Albuquerque abortion facilities. They serve as a voice for unborn children who are scheduled to die and as a resource for women who are open to hearing about all of their options.
