Leading pro-life groups were quick to condemn the selection of Walz because of his radical pro-abortion record.
“If elected, a Harris-Walz Administration would push for the most extreme abortion agenda policies of any administration,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are both radically pro-abortion and see the lives of precious unborn babies as disposable inconveniences.”
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are both abortion apologists who represent the most extreme pro-abortion position of the Democratic Party.
“Tim Walz has made his support of unlimited abortion a foundation of his administration,” continued Tobias. “Both Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have yet to hear of an abortion they would oppose.”
Tobias told LifeNews that Walz supports using tax dollars to pay for abortions. He signed the repeal of Minnesota’s Positive Alternatives Act which had provided support for pregnant mothers and funding for pregnancy help centers.

She said Walz supports a policy allowing unlimited abortion for any reason throughout pregnancy. He signed legislation to enshrine a “fundamental right” to abortion for any reason until birth in Minnesota law and invalidate existing protections like the state’s parental involvement law.
Before becoming governor, Walz represented Minnesota’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007-2019. During his time in Congress, Walz earned a 0% pro-life rating from National Right to Life.
“Kamala Harris’ selection of Tim Walz is in keeping with her entrenched support of unlimited abortion,” said Tobias. “Walz, like Harris, is fully entrenched in his support of abortion anytime, anywhere, and under any circumstances.”
When running for governor, Walz was endorsed by pro-abortion groups supporting unlimited abortion, including Planned Parenthood Action Fund and NARAL Pro-Choice America (now called “Reproductive Freedom for All”).
Another pro-life group also condemned Walz’s radical abortion record.
“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz make up the most pro-abortion presidential ticket America has ever seen. There is no daylight between them on this issue,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Walz is no moderate when it comes to abortion. Last year Walz signed the ‘PRO Act,’ which was at the time the country’s most extreme law enshrining abortion on demand throughout pregnancy as a ‘fundamental right’ without limits of any kind. He then signed further legislation grossly expanding taxpayer-funded abortion, stripping away the state’s informed consent protections, and significantly weakening protections for babies born alive.
“With Harris and Walz as standard-bearers, the Democratic Party has become the ‘Shout Your Abortion’ party, with no limits for any reason even in the seventh, eighth or ninth month. In contrast to President Trump, JD Vance and the GOP, who support the right of the people to set limits on abortion and provide real options for mothers in need, Democrats have made it clear nothing – not the checks and balances built into our government, not the humanity of unborn children and not the true needs of women – will stop them from imposing all-trimester abortion nationwide.
