Trump: “Democrats are Radical” Because They Want Abortions All Nine Months

On Friday, former President Donald Trump clarified that he is voting “no” on the pro-abortion Florida Amendment 4 this November, one day after he said that he believes the state’s current pro-life law is too strong.

FOX News’ Bryan Lllenas asked Trump: “Are you voting yes or no on Amendment 4 in Florida?”

“So, I think six weeks, you need more time,” Trump replied, referring to his disagreement with a Florida law protecting most unborn children after six weeks of gestation. “I’ve disagreed with it right from the early primaries.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who signed the legislation, was Trump’s Republican presidential primary rival until January, when the governor ended his campaign and immediately endorsed Trump for the nomination.

“At the same time,” Trump told Llenas, “the Democrats are radical because the nine months is just a ridiculous situation – where you can do an abortion in the ninth month.”

Trump said that “some of the states, like Minnesota and other states, have where you can actually execute the baby after birth.”

Minnesota’s current governor is Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz. In recent weeks, some critics have charged Walz with signing a pair of bills that they argue effectively legalize forced abortions in his state.

“All of that stuff is unacceptable,” Trump emphasized. “So, I’ll be voting no for that reason.”

As CatholicVote previously reported, Florida’s Amendment 4 “would legalize abortions up until ‘viability,’ which is usually defined around 24 weeks gestation.”

Critics hold that the language of the amendment can be interpreted to allow some abortions in Florida up until the moment of birth.
