How impressive is Judge Amy Coney Barrett?
During an exchange before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Judge Barrett responded with what ha already become a humorous meme on Twitter and social media.
Senator John Cornyn of Texas asked Judge Barrett to show her notes for the Senate hearing, thinking she may have written down some prominent names, Supreme Court cases or terms. Instead, Judge Barrett held up a blank notepad.
Cornyn: “Most of us have multiple notebooks & notes & books & things like that in front of us. Can you hold up what you’ve been referring to in answering our questions?”
Barrett: <Holds up blank notebook>
Cornyn: “Is there anything on it?”
ACB: “The letterhead that says U.S. Senate.”
