Kate Smith, a former CBS News journalist who became notorious for her pro-abortion bias, just announced her new position as a “news director” at Planned Parenthood.
On Monday, Politico reported the abortion chain hired Smith as its “first ever senior director of news content.”
What exactly that role entails was not described, but Smith likely will be getting a huge salary to produce pro-abortion propaganda. Planned Parenthood is a billion-dollar abortion chain that identifies as a “nonprofit” and pays its leaders huge amounts of money to promote the killing of unborn babies in abortions.
“Thrilled to be joining Planned Parenthood full-time on this exciting new project. Much, much more to come,” Smith wrote on Twitter.
The announcement came as no surprise to pro-life and conservative leaders. Popular conservative host Erick Erickson said other journalists used to criticize him for pointing out Smith’s bias, but her new position confirms he was correct.

“I remember getting notes from several reporters upset with me saying Kate Smith has been nothing but a propagandist for the abortion industry at CBS and now this,” Erickson responded.
Becket Adams of the National Journalism Center also noticed Smith’s new job, writing, “’Bout time they pay her for the pr work.”
Smith only worked for CBS News for a few years, but she swiftly developed a reputation for her pro-abortion bias. Her news reports appeared more like press releases and advertisements for the abortion industry than fair and balanced reporting on the controversial issue.
In 2020, National Review described her as “Planned Parenthood’s ambassador” because of the consistent pro-abortion bias in her reporting and social media posts.
When Smith announced that she was leaving CBS News in 2021, she pretended that she had kept her opinions to herself.
“Now that I’m not a reporter I can be candid about my own opinions on reproductive rights,” she wrote at the time. “I’ll say this: With or without Roe v Wade access to abortion is disappearing across the South and Midwest for low income women. And it’s happening more or less under the radar. It’s a pivotal moment for abortion rights, and one that deserves a lot of coverage and our attention.”
Since then, her abortion advocacy has continued online. Smith developed a huge social media following and influence. Most recently, she appears to have been the key source of false but widely-circulated claims that a Missouri pro-life bill would prevent women from receiving treatment for life-threatening ectopic pregnancies.
