On July 14th, a shocking video released by the Center for Medical Progress showed Parenthood’s Medical Director, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, discussing their negotiations with a business called Stem Express that purchases aborted babies’ body parts for experimentation. This was big news. In fact, over two million people saw the video and tweets about the abortion giant’s scandal was trending on Twitter for two days.
Additionally, lawmakers across the country and nearly every Republican candidate for president called on Congress to defund the abortion giant.
As LifeNews previously reported, in the horrendous video Dr. Nucatola gave instructions on how to perform an abortion if the goal is to attain high quality “specimen” for organ harvesting. She said, “You’re just kind of cognizant of where you put your graspers, you try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m going to basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
Then the abortionist goes to explain that Planned Parenthood charges per-specimen for baby body parts and is aware of their own liability for doing so. When asked about a price, she said, “I would say it’s probably anywhere from $30 to $100, depending on the facility and what’s involved.” Unbelievably, she admits that some body parts, such as livers and heads, are much more popular and go for a higher price than other specimen.

However, after the video was released there was somewhat of a media blackout compared to how news agencies usually report on breaking stories. For example, The Federalist pointed out that reporters have been obsessed with the Confederate flag story ever since a man walked into a church in South Carolina and killed nine American Americans but have given Planned Parenthood’s video minimal coverage.
Mollie Hemingway explained, “The shooting happened on June 17, about a month ago. The media quickly moved on from the victims and the shooting itself, even though there were many worthwhile angles to cover. Instead they went for frenzied coverage of the presence of Confederate flags. The Planned Parenthood video was released on July 14, about a week ago. If the story of harvesting organs for sale from aborted babies were deemed merely as important as the flag story, we’d expect to see many multiples of the levels of coverage we’re seeing now.”
Hemingway also shared information she discovered while using Nexis to compare how different media companies reported on those two stories. She said, “CNN has had 493 mentions of the Confederate flag since June 17 (only 188 of these even mention alleged church shooter Dylann Roof), and managed 167 in the first six days. In the first six days of the Planned Parenthood scandal, they managed 7 mentions, less than 5 percent what you’d expect if you considered those stories only of equal importance.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time mainstream media has minimized a story because of its connection to abortion. In 2013, ABC News took 56 days to cover the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell, the late term abortionist who snipped the neck of babies born alive after botched abortions.
